Congratulations to Mikiah, our first Star of the Month for the 2024-25 school year! Mikiah attends Manton Middle School in Manton, MI, where he made fantastic progress in Read Live as a sixth-grader last year. Here is what his teacher, Ms. Bottrall, wrote about him:

"Mikiah is a kind boy who tries to hide his excitement when he exceeds in anything he's working on in class. In Read Naturally specifically, he allows a little sideways smile when he passes a story and gets very excited to chart his passage completion on our ELA small group "Read Live Reading Mastery" class chart. He currently is in the lead of his class, and we ran out of room for him to chart already! He handles feedback really well and is using the program to his benefit. I am noticing that when the class is provided different free choices, he always picks his library book and is engulfed in it. I can't say that he was like that at the beginning of the year.

Mikiah deserves this acknowledgement because I want him to not just secretly be proud, but to have the company itself say, "Wow, look what you're doing!" That would be pretty amazing. I hope you choose Mikiah. He's a very deserving, kind and hard-working student."
