Word Warm-ups 3 example: Black exercise 8 — Review

2807 Views

Each section has one review exercise following the lesson exercises.

At the top of each review exercise, there are two rows of practice boxes that contain the prefixes, suffixes, syllables, or roots taught in the section. The audio for the practice boxes reviews the pronunciation of each one as the student reads along. The student then practices the prefixes, suffixes, syllables, or roots until able to read them automatically.

Below the practice boxes is a table with five columns of words. All of the words in the review exercise are taken from the lesson exercises in that section. The student first does a cold timing reading the words. Next, the student reads along as the narrator pronounces each syllable—and then the whole word—in each column of words. The student then stops the CD and practices the words.
Students complete Steps 1–7 for review exercises.
