Videos: A Student's Guide to One Minute Reader Live

Teach your students how to do the steps of One Minute Reader Live by combining this three-part video series with hands-on experience. In each video, a student demonstrates a different set of One Minute Reader Live steps. After watching a video, have each student log in to his/her first One Minute Reader Live story and complete the steps demonstrated in the video.

Before You Begin...

You must enroll, license, and place your students before showing these videos to them.
The following document provides instructions for setting up students and using the videos to teach them the steps.

pointer Video Part 1: Login, Placement, and Cold Read (5:49) 

The students watch this video, and then each student completes the demonstrated activities:  logging in to One Minute Reader Live, placement or picking a level, selecting a book and story, going through the Cold Read step, viewing the Cold Read graph, and logging out. When all students have logged out, show Video Part 2.

pointer Video Part 2: Read Along and Read Alone (4:06)

After the students watch this video, each student logs in to One Minute Reader Live and completes the demonstrated activities: clicking the vocabulary words in blue, going through the Read Along (modeling) step, and practicing the story in the Read Alone step. When all students are done with the Read Alone step, show Video Part 3. 

pointer Video Part 3: Read Alone, Quiz, and Story Results (3:39)

After watching this video, each student practices the story in the Read Alone step to get a good score, answers the quiz questions, and then views the story results. After finishing the story, the student selects a new story.
