Congrats to our March Star of the Month, Fernando, who has made great progress in reading this year! Fernando is a fifth grader at Carver Elementary School in Maplewood, MN. Here is what Fernando's teacher, Ms. Oberding, has to say about him:
What would you say if I told you that one of my students has averaged an increase of 59 wpm? What if I told you that he achieved this in under a month of working in Read Naturally Live? Impressed? Well so are we, and that is why Fernando should be your STAR OF THE MONTH!
Fernando is a great example of a program that is working for a student. He began using Read Naturally Live in the beginning of November and has shown impressive growth in his rate, accuracy and expression. He puts in effort with consistency and fidelity. His achievements are seen in the Read Naturally Live reports as well as our biweekly progress monitoring. Read Naturally Live has kept him motivated and engaged while taking ownership of his learning during our daily 30 minute fluency block. These factors along with his attitude has not only increased his fluency but also his confidence in reading.
Way to go, Fernando! Do you have a star student like Fernando? The Read Naturally Star Student of the Month program is designed to celebrate students who work hard to improve their reading skills using Read Naturally's intervention programs. Nominate your star student today to win prizes for both student and teacher, as well as special recognition!
