Congrats to our December Star of the Month for the 2023-2024 school year, Karlee! Karlee is a 3rd grader at Lead-Deadwood Elementary School in Deadwood, SD. She greatly improved her wcpm and is a leader for those around her! Here is what Karlee's teacher, Ms. Hess, had to say about her:
Karlee came into second grade as a struggling reader, reading only 25 words a minute with 81% accuracy. She was in an intensive intervention group for the entire year. We started using Read Live with her and her fluency and accuracy took off.
Now that she is in third grade, she easily reads 85+ wcpm with 96% accuracy on her cold reads. Plus, she is a leader for those around her. She has a good attitude and a great work ethic. Her success is rubbing off and others are excited to read and meet their goals, too.
Way to go, Karlee!
