Our April Star of the Month is Thiago, a third grader at Our Mother of Sorrows school in Tucson, Arizona, who has been a Read Live star this school year! Here is what his teacher, Ms. Scotland, wrote about him:
"Thiago has gained such confidence as a reader. He is diligently working through the phonics levels and is almost ready to move on to sequenced stories. He was reluctant to read the words going across and down, but now is happy to read with increasing accuracy in both directions. He even led an informative discussion about sap--we also sampled some maple syrup. He's excited to move to the next level. This has been such a confidence booster! Another great motivator has been Wordtastic. We posted the points gained in the classroom and now students want to do their best to succeed. We also have them choose words to put on a chart, so the whole group can practice. Read Live has helped Thiago gain confidence with the format and 1:1 teacher support. He sees himself as a reader now and is a great candidate as Star of the Month!"
Keep up the great work, Thiago!
