Read Live: Changing a lead teacher/reassigning a license

You can remove a student's license, allowing it to be assigned to another student. You can also change a student's lead teacher without removing the student's license.
The abilities to remove licenses, or to change students' lead teachers, depend on your role in Read Live.
- Account Administrators and School Coordinators can change licenses and lead teacher assignments on behalf of any staff member.
- Teachers can assign and remove their own student's licenses. If another staff member is already a student's lead teacher, they cannot remove the student's license or change that lead teacher relationship.
To remove student licenses, allowing them to be assigned to another student:
As a Teacher, to remove a single student's license:
- From the navigation menu, select Student Setup.
(If you are an Account Administrator or School Coordinator, you can select Student Administration from the navigation menu and then click Student Setup.) - Click the last name of the student whose license you need to remove.
- From the License this student? menu, select No. Note that the student's lead teacher is removed when you remove the license.
- Click Save & Close.
As an Account Administrator or School Coordinator, to remove licenses from one or more students:
- From the navigation menu, select Student Administration.
- Click Student Licensing.
- If necessary, from the License students at... menu, select a school.
- Choose the students whose licenses you need to remove by selecting the boxes next to their names.
- Click the Remove Licenses from Selected button.
- Click Yes to confirm removing the licenses.
To assign a new lead teacher without removing a student's license:
As a teacher, you can only make this change if you are the student's existing lead teacher:
- From the navigation menu, select Student Setup.
- Click the last name of the student whose lead teacher you need to change.
- From the Lead Teacher menu, select the new lead teacher. Note that you do not need to remove the student's license in order to make this change.
- Click Save & Close.
As an Account Administrator or School Coordinator, you can also change the lead teacher assignments of one or more students from the License Active Students page:
- From the navigation menu, select Student Administration.
- Click Student Licensing.
- If necessary, from the License students at... menu, select a school.
- Choose one or more students who will all have the same lead teacher by selecting the checkboxes next to their names.
- Click the Change Lead Teacher for Selected button.
- From the Select a Lead Teacher menu, choose the new lead teacher.
- Click OK.
