Read Live: Moving students to a new grade

5319 Views

At the beginning of the school year, it is important to make sure someone at your account advances Read Live students to the correct grade. Having students in the correct grade is especially important for placement and reporting.

IMPORTANT: Since both Account Administrators and other staff members have permission to complete these tasks, please coordinate your efforts to ensure students end up in the correct grade with the correct teachers.
Account Administrators: Advancing all students in the account by one grade

Only Account Administrators can advance the grades of all active students in the account.

  1. From the navigation menu, select Student Administration.
  2. Click New School Year Administration.
  3. Notice that as a result of saving your changes from this page, all students in the account will be advanced one grade and have their homeroom assignment removed.
If you need to make these changes for only some students in the account, you can use the Change Grade and Change Homeroom buttons on the Student Setup page instead.
  4. Choose whether to remove the license and lead teacher assignments for all students in the account:
    • Choosing Remove licenses and lead teachers will mean each student will need a new license and lead teacher assignment to work in Read Naturally Live.
    • Choosing Retain licenses and lead teachers will leave those relationships intact. Students working with new teachers will need to have their lead teacher assignments changed.
  5. Click Save & Close to start the new school year for this account.
  6. Click Change ALL Students to confirm the changes.
Account Administrators and School Coordinators: Changing one or more students' grade

Both Account Administrators and School Coordinators can change the grade for one or more selected students using the Change Grade page.

  1. From the navigation menu, select Student Administration.
  2. Click Student Setup.
  3. Choose a set of students who need to have the same grade by selecting the checkboxes next to the students' names.
  4. Click the Change Grade for Selected button at the top of the page.
  5. From the grade menu, select the new grade for all the selected students.
  6. Click Save & Close.
  7. Click Yes to confirm the change.
