What's New in This Release

The Read Live 2.7.0.0 release includes Word Warm-ups® Live, Read Naturally's research-based phonics intervention program. The new component of Read Live is available to all Read Live users at no additional cost.

Summary

• Word Warm-ups Live builds mastery and automaticity in phonics and decoding with systematic, audio-supported phonics instruction.
  • Students work independently through Word List and Story exercises that provide multiple opportunities to decode and encode words.
  • Students play Phontastic, an engaging new phonics word game, while waiting for teacher interactions.
• Any student given a Read Live license can also be assigned access to Word Warm-ups Live. See the Read Live User Guide for instructions on how to give students Word Warm-ups Live access.
  • Students given access to the new application use a new  icon in the header of the Read Naturally Live Student Module. Clicking the icon allows the student to move to Word Warm-ups Live.
  • Each student must also be placed in Read Naturally Live in order to access the new application. 
  • The default assignment in Word Warm-ups Live is Level 1, Section B, Short Vowels. However, on the Word Warm-ups Live Students page in the Staff Module, you can assess each student using the printable phonics assessment and edit that default assignment. See the Read Live User guide for instructions on using the phonics assessment.

System Requirements

Read Live’s minimum software requirements have not changed for the release of Word Warm-ups. See the full list of current system requirements.

Read Naturally Live iPad App

Students using the Read Naturally Live iPad app do not need to update the app. If they are given Word Warm-ups Live access, the  icon will appear the next time they log into Read Live.
