What's New in This Release

Read Live version 4.18 changes the way in which students receive their first assignments in Word Warm-ups Live. It also revises the appearance of the Key Words step during Read Naturally Live Phonics series stories.

Detailed Summary of changes in this release

• Students given Word Warm-ups Live access no longer receive a default assignment in that application as of this release. In order to work in Word Warm-ups Live, students will need a teacher to provide that initial assignment. The recently-released Phonics/Word Analysis Assessment feature is one method of choosing a student's first Level, Section, and Word List Goal in Word Warm-ups Live.
  • In the Read Live student module, students with Word Warm-ups Live access but no assignment who log into Read Live will now see an Assess Phonics/Word Analysis button on their Word Warm-ups Live tile. Choosing that button opens a page from which a teacher can log in to complete the assessment and choose a first assignment for the student. 
  • In the Staff Member Module, students who have access to Word Warm-ups Live but no assignment appear on the Student Activity page with the words "No current assignment" next to that application. The Phonics/Word Analysis Assessment button , from which an assessment can be completed, is available to the right of that text.
    • To manually choose a student's first assignment, you can also use the staff module's Student Activity page. The Change Assignment button  gives access to the Change Level/Section/Goal page, from which the assignment can be saved.
• During Read Naturally Live Phonics series stories, the appearance of the Key Word step has been revised.
  • Key words are no longer dimmed and disabled during audio lessons that may describe them.
• This release also includes bug fixes.
